Pattern Help

What do the difficulty ratings mean?

I use the standard skill level ratings used by the Craft Yarn Council, you can find their ratings for knit and crochet patterns here.

About Suggested Yarns

Sometimes when I design a pattern, the yarn I use in my design is unavailable in the specific color from the yarn company (for various reasons), so the suggested yarns are the same weight and the closest color shade I can find when the pattern is published. As often as possible, though, I list the specific color and yarn that I used in the pattern so that your result is as close to the pictures as possible.

Abbreviations

All my abbreviations are pretty basic, according to standard abbreviation practices set out by the Craft Yarn Council. You can find the master list for crochet abbreviations here and for knitting here.
Here is a short list of my most-frequently used abbreviations:

Crochet:

ch-chain
st-stitch
sts-stitches
sc-single crochet
hdc-half double crochet
dc-double crochet
tr-treble crochet

Knit:

k-knit
p-purl
co-cast on
st-stitch
sts-stitches
inc-increase
dec-decrease
k2tog- knit two stitches together
yo-yarn over

Uses for Motifs

You can use the 12” tail on the background square to sew your finished motif onto whatever you want! You can also use sewing thread to attach your motif to non-yarn items, such as jeans, shirts, jackets, purses, or more. Tacky glue is useful for attaching motifs to hard surfaces such as notebook covers, pencil cases, or whatever needs a little dose of cuteness. ;)

How can I use your patterns?

Feel free to sell any items made from my patterns! They are great for bazaars, craft shows, and for sale online. You do not need to credit my pattern or link to me in any way. You bought the pattern, you can use it!
