Bubblegum Dragon Kids Fingerless Gloves
I saw a picture of these online and thought they looked really fun to make, and cute! I knew my fashion-forward teenage sisters would love them, and once they figured out what I was making, they were super excited to try them on even before I had them done!
The only patterns I could find had scales going across the palm of the hand, which I thought would be too bulky for being able to pick things up and function well, so I decided to use the dragon scale stitch and design my own pattern, having a flat palm and the scales around the back of the hand, kind of like a dragon's back having bigger scales and the belly smoother ones.
Something else I love about this glove is the way the dragon scales shadow and highlight color, and how they look with variegated and ombre, color-changing yarns.
I could make these all day! All my sisters love them, I'm probably going to have to make myself a pair soon!
Something else I love about these is that they really do keep your hands warm while keeping your fingers free, like any good fingerless glove should!
The basic pattern makes gloves that fit most childrens' sizes, but instructions on how to adjust the pattern to fit a custom size are also included.
